Diseases of the gallbladder and bile ducts affect the system responsible for storing and transporting bile. Common issues include gallstones, which can form in the gallbladder and cause pain or blockages. Gallbladder polyps are typically benign growths that develop within the gallbladder. Bile duct obstruction, often caused by gallstones or tumors, can lead to a buildup of bile, resulting in symptoms such as abdominal pain or jaundice. These conditions can be thoroughly assessed with an MRI to evaluate the health of the gallbladder and bile ducts.
