Diseases affecting the testicles and spermatic ducts can cause pain, swelling, or fertility issues. Common conditions include testicular tumors, which often present as a painless swelling and should be detected early, as well as varicocele, an enlargement of the veins in the scrotum that can impair sperm quality. Epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis) and vasitis (inflammation of the spermatic ducts) are usually caused by infections and lead to pain and swelling. An MRI scan offers the advantage of being non-invasive while providing high-resolution images of the testicles and spermatic ducts. It allows for the precise detection of even the smallest tissue changes, the early diagnosis of tumors or circulatory disorders, and helps differentiate between benign and malignant conditions. This improves diagnostic accuracy and enables targeted treatment.
